The division Physical Sciences strengthens the scientific environment of the disciplines Astronomy, Mathematics and Computer Science by allocating grants for research, facilities and equipment and by stimulating multidisciplinary and international projects. Physical Sciences coordinates the Smart Energy Systems programme.
NWO theme Basic Energy Research
Already circa 20 research programmes with a total budget of 90 million euro's in the area of basic energy research are running under the NWO umbrella. SES is the first new programme within this NWO theme.
