Conflict and Cooperation over Natural Resources in Developing Countries - CoCooN

The third and last matchmaking meeting: Hanoi

16 October 2009

In Hanoi about 40 participants from twelve different countries gathered to discuss burning issues, knowledge gaps and best practices related to conflict & natural resources. Again linking action and research provided new insights and resulted in constructive partnerships.

The participants appreciated the well organized workshop, in which the Regional Forum for People and Forests (RECOFTC), the Royal Netherlands Embassy and the Netherlands Organisation for Development (SNV) worked together.

After the opening speeches of the Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Dutch Ambassador, group debates started. The meeting resulted in six consortia initiatives, some of them based upon existing ideas, others created during the meeting.

The three matchmaking meetings have resulted in a number of different potential initiatives. We welcome these consortia to submit a pre-proposal for an Integrated Project. The deadline for proposals is 3 November 2009.

Please visit the Subsidy Guide for more information about how to submit a pre-proposal.
