Great attendance at Information Meeting Cocoon

On June 8th, some seventy researchers, professionals at development organizations and other interested parties attended the Cocoon information meeting in the Hague. All anxious to be informed about the new knowledge, research and innovation programme Conflict and Cooperation over Natural Resources in Developing Countries. The meeting shed light on the background and aims of the programme, details on the matchmaking meetings in Hanoi, Addis Ababa and Bogota, as well as a networking opportunity to prepare for forming consortia and initiating Integrated Projects.

The participants were welcomed on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Peter de Vries. Ton Dietz, chair of the Cocoon Steering Committee, opened the meeting officially by spelling out the aim and objectives of the programme. Subsequently, Han van Dijk, the coordinator of Cocoon, delivered the practical details on the matchmaking meetings in September and how to apply.
