Three GHPHSR programmes awarded

This week, three research programmes have been awarded funding in the second call of the Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research (GHPHSR) programme.

Call for proposals: Programme for Global Health and Vaccination Research (Research Council of Norway)

The Research Council of Norway has launched a call for proposals that can contribute to sustainable improvements in health and health equity for poor people in low- and middle-income countries (deadline: 30 November 2011).

Call for proposals: Antimicrobial Resistance in developing countries

Beginning on 1 March, researchers are invited to submit grant proposals for the ZonMw-programme Priority Medicines Antimicrobial Resistance. WOTRO contributes € 390.000 to this call to support research on antimicrobial resistance with relevance for development countries.

The second call for proposals in the Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research programme will be launched before the end of November. The deadline for submission or preliminary proposals will be 8 March 2011.

Pre-announcement new call Health Policy and Systems research

A second call for proposals in the Global Health Policy and Health Systems Research programme is expected to be launched around mid-November 2010. In this second call, initiatives from low-income countries (LIC) are highly welcome. Main applicants from these countries are explicitly invited to submit a proposal with a Dutch senior researcher as co-applicant.

WHO Call for Letters of Intent Implementation research

WHO (The Alliance HPSR, TDR, HRP, and CAH) has announced a Call for Letters of intent of the Grants Programme related to the Implementation Research Platform for the years 2010-2011. The deadline for submission of a Letter of Intent is 31 July 2010.

Five Global Health Policy and Health Systems programmes awarded

As result of the first call of the GHPHS research programme, the Steering Committee awarded five high quality research programmes. The Steering Committee has high expectations of the ability of these programmes to demonstrate how health systems can be improved, and how improved health systems can contribute to reaching the Millennium Development Goals.
