Focus: health policy research, MDG 5, leadership and governance
WOTRO Science for Global Development launched the second call of the research programme Global Health Policy and Health Systems (GHPHS). The deadline for submitting preliminary proposals was March 8, 2011, 12.00 CET.
Focus
This call focuses on health policy research and will emphasize topics such as leadership and governance, as well as MDG5: improving maternal health. Funding is available for high-quality knowledge translation activities and multidisciplinary research. Applying coalitions were encouraged to include activities that prepare for networking activities and for embedding the research coalition within global, north-south and south-south structures.
Who can apply?
A proposal could be submitted by a research coalition drawn from at least four different partner institutes and comprising at least two from (one or more) low- or middle income countries (LMICs )and two based in the Netherlands. A budget of maximally € 2.2M is available for minimally three to maximally six high quality programmes.
Aim of the programme
Proposals have to contribute to the overall aims of the programme, which are to 1) contribute to better health by conducting research aiming at strengthening health systems in low-income countries, 2) strengthen research capacity in LMICs and 3) strengthen collaboration in the Dutch research and knowledge community in order to enhance utilisation of Dutch research capacity.
