New board member for Humanities

The Governing Board of NWO has appointed Prof. A.J.A.C.M. (Anne-Marie) Korte as a member of the Divisional Board for the Humanities with effect from 1 February 2009. Anne-Marie Korte is a senior lecturer in Systematic Theology at the University of Tilburg and is endowed professor of Female Studies in Theology at Utrecht University.
Professor Korte specialises in gender studies in the field of theology and religious studies. She has published widely on theological anthropology and the role of religion in processes of emancipation. She has also led a series of research projects in these fields and produced a large number of joint publications, some within the framework of the Netherlands Research College for Theology and Religious Science (NOSTER).
In an opinion poll published in Dagblad Trouw in 2008, she was voted as ‘top female theologist’ in the Netherlands. She is currently undertaking research into modern miracles and into gender aspects of blasphemy and sacrilege. She has been a member of various NWO Humanities committees and the NWO programme committee ‘The Future of the Religious Past’.
