Programme for Educational Research - Review Studies

Line of action : Science for society
Secretariat : MaGW
Apply : Yes, but at a later stage

Objective

This funding round for review studies is part of the Programme for Educational Research 2008-2011.

Review studies are short-term, independent exploratory or review studies into subjects that are important for educational practice and policy and for which no review articles are available yet. The publication of a publically accessible summary and/or the organisation of a practice seminar is part of the study. This summary or seminar should focus on pointers that can be used to further improve educational practice.

In this second funding round, researchers can submit proposals for review studies into eight different subjects:

  1. Teaching time;
  2. Differentiation between and within groups;
  3. Investigative learning;
  4. Effects of cooperative learning;
  5. Dealing with children with behavioural problems within the educational system;
  6. Interprofessional collaboration between education and the health and welfare sectors;
  7. The role of teachers in parental involvement and parental participation in the development of children at school;
  8. The effects of scale on school organisations, the quality of the educational process and the performance of pupils.

Besides the subjects stated above, researchers can also carry out a review study on a subject they propose.

This deviation means that the evaluation procedure shall not use referees and a rebuttal to referee's reports.

The procedure is detailed in the call for proposals.
