CATCH receives 29 pre-proposals

CATCH received 29 pre-proposals before the deadline for submitting pre-proposals on June 26, 2008. In the third round of CATCH, NWO will grant four research proposals. The budget for this round is tree million euros, financed by the NWO divisions Physical Sciences and Humanities and by the ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW).

The International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) will inform the principal investigators which pre-proposals can be submitted as full proposal around mid–July. After the deadline for submission of full proposals, on Thursday, September 18, 2008, the procedure continues with the full proposals to be assessed by independent external referees. During the ISAB meeting in November all members will advise and prioritise the full proposals to the steering group. Based on this advice the steering group decides on which research proposals will be granted around mid-December.

De The ISAB has recently been extended with prof. dr. Chad Gaffield, president of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council in Ottawa, Canada. The board currently exists of eight members each with their expertise in different fields of computer science, cultural heritage and humanities.
