Netwerksubsidies voor wetenschappelijke bijeenkomsten

Het doel van deze bijeenkomsten is het bevorderen van de interactie binnen het nationale cognitieveld en van de innovatie van het cognitieonderzoek.

• Over fifty years of perception studies: Prof. E.P. Köster's 75th birthday, Dr. G.B. Dijksterhuis. At the European Conference on Sensory Consumer Science of Food and Beverages "A Sense of Diversity" a special session is devoted to honour Prof. E.P. Köster. Prof. Köster has been an active researcher of many aspects of experimental psychology, such as ergonomics, olfaction, implicit (odour) memory, sensory analysis, and food choice.
• European Workshop on Ecological Psychology 9, Dr. ir. F.T.J.M. Zaal. EWEP 9 is the conference, organized every other year, of European ecological psychologists. This group includes experimental psychologists, human movement scientists, neuroscientists, physicists, roboticists, and others interested in the perception-action approach to (human) movement. Topics at EWEP 9 range from basic research into visual, auditory and haptic information, action and coordination, affordances, perceptual systems, perceptual learning, and the neurological basis of perception and action to more applied issues regarding human factors, robotics, rehabilitation and sports.
• Errors, conflicts, and rewards: The role of medial frontal cortex in cognitive control and performance monitoring, Dr. S.T. Nieuwenhuis. Conferentie waar psychologen, computationele onderzoekers en neurowetenschappers de rol van de medial frontex cortex in cognitive control bespreken. De conferentie bestaat uit een eendaagse masterclass, gevolgd door een tweedaagse bijeenkomst.
• Workshop Ethics of neuro-imaging and neuro-imaging of ethics, Dr. G.J.C. Lokhorst. Workshop rondom de ethische aspecten van neuro-imaging.
• Cognition and the sleeping brain, Dr. E.J.W. van Someren. Multidisciplinary symposium, “with the internationally recognized key scientific players in the field presenting on the relevance of sleep for brain function and cognition.”
• 4th Conference on Cognitive Neuropsychiatry, Dr. P.A.T.M. Eling. Aim of the conference is to provide a platform for the exchange of theoretical ideas and methodological information between psychiatrists and psychologists. This conference should develop into a truly international meeting in the coming years.
• Leidse Cognitie Dag, Prof. dr. B. Hommel. The "Leidse Cognitie Dag" offers cognition researchers from the University of Leidens's faculties of Arts, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Medicine, and Social and Behavioural Sciences the opportunity to get acquainted with each other's work. Their goal is to join their forces to put cognitive research as a central issue on the agenda of the Leiden University. This year's topic is "Communication: Development, Function and Dysfunction".
• Language Acquisition between Sentence and Discourse, Dr. I.M. Krämer. Workshop waarin de crossmodulaire benadering centraal staat van vragen die ontstaan zijn uit taalkundige studies van taalverwerving. Hierin worden disciplines samengebracht als psychologie, filosofie en AI.
• Workshop Philosophy of Information, Prof. J.F.A.K van Benthem. Exclusieve, internationale workshop waarin experts vanuit de filosofie, computation en cognitie nader ingaan op de “various formal and conceptual perspectives that exist on the pervasive notion of information”. De aanvragers hopen hiermee een aanzet te geven tot een “coordinated international effort to study this emerging field”.
• Access to the living brain: neurophysiological advances in recording and modification of human brain function, Dr. N.F. Ramsey. Workshop waarin zowel vanuit de klinische hoek, als vanuit technische of fundamenteel wetenschappelijke hoek de mogelijkheden, beperkingen en beloftes van nieuwe technieken op het gebied van Brain-Machine Interface over worden gebracht.
• What is the relation between neural specialization and functional organization in object perception?, Dr. R. Rouw. Conferentie rond de vraag in hoeverre “… the functional organization of behavior maps on anatomical systems. In this conference we will bring together researchers, all interested in this question, but approaching it from different angles."
• Changing Minds, cognitive, computational and logical approaches to belief revision, Prof. J.F.A.K. van Benthem. How do people change their minds? Cognitive, computational and logical approaches to this issue will be confronted with each other in this one day workshop.
• Cognitive Foundations of Interpretation, Prof. H.E. de Swart. Een masterclass voor promovendi, aansluitend bij een workshop die de aanvragers over dit onderwerp organiseren waarbij juist senior onderzoekers bij elkaar worden gebracht.
• Motor control for vision scientists, Dr. J.B.J. Smeets. Een vijfdaagse workshop voor jonge onderzoekers en promovendi met als doel “.. to introduce vision scientists into the latest developments in motor control in order to meaningful study visual perception in relation to motor control.”
• Eerste Leidse Cognitie Dag, Prof. B. Hommel. Bijdrage in de kosten van de eerste workshop/meeting van 50-100 cognitive scientists die werkzaam zijn in de vier relevante faculteiten (social sciences, medical sciences, natural sciences, linguistics) van de Universiteit Leiden.
• 23rd International Summer School of Brain Research, Dr. J. van Pelt.  Vergoeding voor één spreker op de International Summer School of Brain Research.
