Internationalisation at ALW
Decision process
The ALW Board provides guidance for the selection of international activities and decides the extent of ALW’s active involvement. The Board also takes the financial decisions that should enable and facilitate international collaboration in specific Earth and Life Science disciplines. The NWO and ALW strategy documents serve as a guide by which activities are selected.
PIN, Project group Internationalisation
Council staff members involved in internationalisation discuss their activities on a monthly basis. This conference is referred to as PIN (project group internationalisation NWO).
NPI, National Platform for International R&D
This platform arose from the Steering Committee Internationalisation, founded in 2002. The NPI is a platform with an informal character, largely intended to stimulate mutual information exchange. The NPI seats the heads of International Affairs of NWO, KNAW, VSNU, Nth-ER, TNO, NVO/NCW and SenterNovem/EGL, as well as observers for OCW, VWS and EZ.
