Symposium outline
The CLIVAR project of the World Climate Research Program focuses on studies
on variability and predictability of climate on interannual to centennial time
scales. CLIVAR related research includes both observational and modelling
studies of natural and antropogenically forced climate changes.
There are a large number of successful climate research projects in the
Netherlands that contribute to CLIVAR. On behalf of NWOs Climate Variability committee and KNAWs Global Change Committee we would like to invite you to
participate in a Dutch Climate Variability Symposium. The goal of the symposium
is take stock of ongoing climate variability research projects in the
Netherlands and to discuss ongoing issues. In particular, contributors to NWOs
Climate Variability, Rapid and Euroclimate programmes are invited to
participate.
This one-day symposium will include 3 keynote lectures by internationally
renowned climate scientists and a number of short contributions. Oral and
poster presentations are solicited on Dutch climate variability research. The
deadline for abstract submission was 15 August 2006.
