Advanced Chemical Technologies for Sustainability
About ACTS
ACTS coordinates five public private research programmes in the area of:
- Integration of Biosynthesis and Organic Synthesis (IBOS)
- Sustainable Hydrogen
- Advanced Sustainable Processes by Engaging Catalytic Technologies (ASPECT)
- Process on a Chip (PoaC)
- Bio-Based Sustainable Industrial Chemicals (B-Basic)
Background
ACTS was set up in February 2002 to bridge the gap between academic and industrial research as a result of the Technology Roadmap Catalysis drafted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. By means of five public private partnership programmes, ACTS brings together academic strenghts and social questions in the fields of energy, (chemical) processes and industrial biotechnology. Over the past seven years ACTS has grown into a network of expertise for pubic private partnership in the area of sustainable chemistry and technology, in which catalysis plays a key role.ACTS budget
ACTS activities are joint initiatives of Government, industry, and academia. This is reflected in the programme budgets, which are brought together by ministries, NWO and the participating industries. The participating universities take care of the housing and supervision of the project researchers. Information on the financing of each programme is included in the programme pages (Click on the programme in the programme menu).
