ESF Open Calls
Call voor ESF Exploratory Workshops 2010
Dit subsidie-instrument helpt Europese onderzoeksgroepen nieuwe contacten te leggen, kennis uit te wisselen en mogelijkheden voor toekomstige onderzoekssamenwerking te verkennen. Dit gebeurt door middel van kleine, interactieve bijeenkomsten met maximaal 30 participanten waarbij maximaal 5 participanten uit het land van de aanvrager komen. Maximaal aan te vragen bedrag is €15.000. De workshops dienen in 2011 plaats te vinden. Jaarlijks stelt de ESF ongeveer 50 van deze workshops verdeeld over alle wetenschapsdisciplines beschikbaar.

Call voor EUROCORES thema's 2010
EUROCORES staat voor de 'European Science Foundation Collaborative Research Programmes Scheme.' Een EUROCORE is een subsidievorm van de European Science Foundation (ESF). Met dit instrument wil de ESF multinationale samenwerking in Europa stimuleren. Onderwerpen voor EUROCORES kunnen bij de ESF worden aangedragen door onderzoekers zelf, de leden, door ESF-commissies (Standing Committees) of expertgroepen (Expert Groups). De ESF werkt een potentiële EUROCORE uit en legt deze voor aan de aangesloten onderzoeksorganisaties. Zodra minimaal 4 organisaties uit 4 verschillende landen het voorstel goedkeuren, zet de ESF een Call for proposals voor onderzoekers uit. EUROCORES zijn mogelijk in alle wetenschapsgebieden.
The EUROCORES (European Collaborative Research) scheme offers a unique framework for the establishment of new collaborative research programmes with international scale and scope.
The ideas for new EUROCORES programmes are elicited from the scientific community through this annual open call for theme proposals. A small number of the submitted themes are selected through peer review for development into new programmes, which then launch their respective Calls for Collaborative Research Project (CRP) proposals. The ensuing project selection phase, through a twostage international peer review, produces a number of successful CRPs which together form a EUROCORES programme. Each CRP contains at least three Individual Projects in three different countries. A successful Individual Project is financed directly from a participating research funding or research performing organisation; project funding typically includes support for research positions, travel, dissemination, equipment, etc. Additional financial and coordination support is available to a programme for enabling networking activities among the funded CRPs.

Call for Proposals for Research Conferences in 2012
The European Science Foundation invites individual scientists to submit proposals for high-level research conferences to take place in 2012 within the framework of its Research Conferences Scheme. Individual researchers (bases at a university/institute in a ESF member organisation country) may apply for a grant to organise a conference consisting of 90 to 150 participants with a duration of four or five days.
In 2011, the ESF will fund Research Conferences in the following scientific domains:
- Social Sciences and Humanities (up to 4 conferences)
