Preserving and Developing the Archaeological Archive (BBO)

Part of NWO Theme : Cultural Heritage
Secretariat : GW
Apply : No, the subsidy is closed for applications

Objective
The programme Preserving and Developing the Archaeological Archive promotes research into the archaeological values in the Netherlands in connection with historico-geographical and (urban-)developmental values. Its aim is to integrate knowledge of the cultural landscape into the process of environmental planning and put it at the latter’s service.

Application

It is no longer possible to submit applications. The programme’s second and final subsidy round closed in June 2003. The programme runs from 2000 to 2006.

Extra Information

The research carried out within the framework of this programme provides scientific knowledge about the archaeological-historical landscape in order to deal with the strategic problem of how to situate this landscape within the spatial development of the Netherlands. It thus has both a societal and a scientific angle. The type of research that is promoted can be either conceptual, strategic and/or applied in character.
