Objective

NWO has a cooperation agreement with the National Science Council of Taiwan (NSC).
With this both organisations want to facilitate the contact between Dutch and Taiwanese
researchers.

Application

Who can apply

Researchers with a tenured position at one of the Dutch universities, KNAW institutes,
NWO institutes, Netherlands Cancer Institute and MPI Nijmegen may submit a proposal.
However, only senior researchers may submit proposals for joint seminars.

What can be applied for

International travel costs, and local travel and accommodation costs for a stay of between 1 and 12 months in Taiwan can be applied for. For a bilateral joint seminar a contribution to the costs can be requested.

When can be applied

Applications can be submitted the whole year round. The processing time is no longer
than five months.

Selection

Criteria

Scientist Exchange

  • Scientific quality, originality and relevance;
  • Quality of the research teams.

Bilateral joint seminars

  • Scientific relevance;
  • Quality of the researchers involved;
  • Effects of the seminar on, for example, the cooperation between Dutch and Taiwanese researchers.

Procedure

Assessment will take place through peer review.

Budget

Applications will be financed from the budget 2012 for visitors travel grants of 370.000 euro.
