Scientific Meetings

NWO Division for Earth and Life Sciences subsidises national scientific discussion meetingsin order to promote national cooperation and coordination in the field of the earth and life sciences.

Who can apply

Organisers of scientific meetings which are (at first) meant for academic researchers.

What can be applied for

Subsidy for scientific meetings with a maximum subsidy budget. The following categories are :

• One-day meetings. Maximum subsidy € 2.500.
• More-day meetings. Maximum subsidy € 5.000.
• Big more-day meetings (more than 75 participants). Maximum € 75 per participant until a maximum of € 10.000.

ALW contributes for rent of facilities, accommodation costs of participants, costs of guest speakers, etc. Dinner costs, symposium book (book of abstracts), presents and prizes are not eligible for subsidy.

ALW does not offer financial contribution to the organisation of international meetings. The ministry of OCW (science) has set up a fund for this purpose at the KNAW.

When can be applied

This programme is permanently open for applications.

Criteria

The office of the Division for Earth and Life Sciences must receive any application two months prior to the meeting.
