Tenure Track Math positions in The Netherlands
Twelve tenure track positions in mathematics became available in 2013. Excellent researchers could apply in several expertise areas of mathematics. The available locations were spread all over The Netherlands.
Since 2005, four mathematics research clusters cover the focus areas in Dutch mathematics. These clusters bring together researchers having joint expertise in both research and education. A cluster cultivates an exchange of ideas by i.e. organising workshops and inviting foreign guests and gives new impetus to scientific research by the assignment of young and promising scientists.
The mathematics clusters are:
- DIAMANT – Discrete, Interactive and Algorithmic Mathematics, Algebra and Number Theory
- GQT – Fellowship of Geometry & Quantum Theory
- NDNS+ – Nonlinear Dynamics of Natural Systems
- STAR – Stochastics: Theoretical and Applied Research
In 2013, twelve additional tenure track positions in mathematics became available at Dutch universities and research institutes. This incentive was made possible by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) via the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
The newly created tenure track positions were available at the following
Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), Delft University of Technology (TUD), Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Leiden University (UL), Radboud University Nijmegen (RU), University of Amsterdam (UvA), University of Groningen (RUG), University of Twente (UT), Utrecht University (UU) and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU).
The vacancies were closed mid 2013. We will inform you as soon as the positions have been filled.
