More women researchers as university lecturer (MEERVOUD)

In the Netherlands, the higher up the professional ladder, the smaller the percentage is of women that are employed in the natural sciences. The MEERVOUD-programme allows female, postdoctoral researchers in biology, earth sciences, mathematics, computer science and astronomy, to acquire a position as university lecturer. The purpose of this programme is to create temporary, part-time UD-positions, coupled to a guarantee to proceed to a (different) scientific position within the research institution. MEERVOUD is executed by two NWO divisions: Earth and Life Sciences(ALW) and Physical Sciences (EW). The grant is awarded for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 years. The research institution that submits the application, will select the candidates. Applications are always submitted to one of the participating NWO-divisions (ALW or EW).The research institution ensures that the MEERVOUD-candidate will proceed to a (different) scientific tenured position within the institution, after completing her project successfully. The tenured term should be at least 0.8 FTE.
